Questions about coverage  for your boat, yacht or personal watercraft? We have markets for all - Wondering about the new NC boating laws that took ettfect May 1st?   A summary of the new law, taken from the Lake Wylie Pilot website: The new law states only age 25 and younger will be impacted, and only on boats with 10 horsepower or more on North Carolina waters. Anyone meeting the criteria must be able to provide proof of a passed safe boating course – Internet or proctored – approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and North Carolina Wildlife Federation. Violators will be required to pay court costs for the infraction. Exceptions to the law include emergency use, where the original boat captain is unable to operate the vessel, and a situation where someone 18 years or older with a safe boating certificate or 26 years or older oversees the boat operation. Also, new boat owners have 90 days from the change in ownership before the rule applies, and people renting or chartering boats are not included. Still have questions?
